The Brief:
Create a positioning and packaging range for the Spicers Paper Samples & Dummies Service, capitalising on the excitement and significance of receiving Samples & Dummies.
The solution was to create a positioning “Passion for Paper”, and create an identity and a flexible layout that could feature individual designs as a background. This system also provided the opportunity to insert campaign related artwork into the background area. The idea was to create a collectable range of re-usable folders that were updated regularly, with the intent of making Spicers customers look good in front of their clients. A great outcome was to encourage Spicers customers to keep these folders for future use, rather than discard them – promoting sustainability. Another outcome was to keep Spicers front of mind, underlining their role as part of the design/production process, by providing these useful tools.
Special notes:This project was undertaken at Threefold/Yello Brands and I also had the pleasure of working closely with Spicers on many projects and campaigns over the last 12-15 years, including rebranding and redesigning the sample system at Cozzolino Ellett Design, and designing ongoing promotional work and reviewing and updating the Sample System at Ecco Design and Threefold/ Yello Brands.
